Beagle Freedom Project Rally!
Week ago from today, I went to Sacramento and got together with the Beagle Freedom Project and fellow beagle lovers to form a rally at the capital. BFP introduced Assembly Bill 147 which says that state-funded that use animals for "research" will adopt out those animals either with their own adoption program or through an animal rescue organization.
Tons of people showed up and I was once again reunited with President and Founder of BFP, Shannon Keith! She is truly an inspiring and outstanding human being! I also got to meet the fabulous Nikki Reed (Rosalie from Twilight)! Did you know that she started her acting career to help animals? Talk about awesome!

Actually witnessing the Assemblymembers talk things through and listen to the "pro" and "con" side of the bill was amazing. I was so surprised by how much opposition there was! All these big name universities were there trying to put down the bill-but we prevailed! Our side was by far the stronger side and AB 147 was passed 11-1! I was so grateful to be a part of this in history. The bill is now on its way to the Appropriations Committee and then to the Senate!
